The focus of the event was on sustainability in the Outdoor Sports arena. Speakers from around the world were gathered for the latest event hosted at Lancaster University by Prof. Mary Rose and Mike Parsons.
Opening the conference, Mr Chris Tiso is Vice Chairman and CEO of the TISO group - Scotland's and Northern Irelands leading outdor equipment retailer welcomed the delegates. His group with a £30m turnover and employing over 400 people has at its heart the sustainability agenda.
Mr Phil Reeves, MD of Econolyst followed as the opening speaker and overviewed technology strategies; project management skills; research and training agendas all of which were designed to assist companies in working within sustainable models
Other speakers included: Mike Berners-Lee; Jackie Seddon; Jeff Crook via teleconference from Canada plus, the day included an interactive workshop headed by Ben Kellard of Forum for the future and a round-table featuring Mark Held (secretary of general European Outdoor Group - EOG), Cortney McDermott (The North Face) and Chair of the EOG Sustainability Working Group and Kilian Hochrein (W.L.Gore) and Chair of the Standards and Regulations working group.
