SmartLife CEO, Mark Pedley has been asked for a fourth year running to give an innovations lecture to undergrad and postgrad students at the Innovation for Extremes (innov_ex) at Lancaster University in October and November this year. The lecture will cover a range of topics from idea/invention development which currently are focused on ideas of his own inspiration to creating smart (torso) garments for remote monitoring in health and sport performance situations.
SmartLife was built on innovation and drive, so inspiring young people to be creative and pursue the ideas they are dreaming is crucial for keeping the market competitive and keeping technology on peak performance.
Mark Pedley, CEO said: "I feel that it's important professionally and personally to try to inspire young people who are interested in technological innovation. We [SmartLife] are an outward looking organisation that hopes to engage with the wider community...that very much includes young people."
Mark has also been involved with Innovation for Extremes conference for the past 3 years by judging innovative ideas and inventions by private sector organisations and students. The 2009 Innov_ex covered eco-innovation in the context of economic recession; sponsored by Outdoor Industries Association (IOA).
SmartLife has been honoured for the 4th year in a row to judge the competition in 2010 Innov_ex event.
