"The 5th International Workshop on Wearable and Implantable Body Sensor Networks (BSN 2008), in conjunction with the 5th International Summer School and Symposium on Medical Devices and Biosensors (ISSS-MDBS 2008), will be held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China on 1-3 June 2008. Body sensor networks (BSN) technique is rapidly gaining tremendous interest of worldwide researchers and professionals from academia to industry. With the development of innovative wearable/wireless/implantable biosensors, BSN technique is expanding for in-vivo monitoring and intervention from clinical application to everyday healthcare, improving the quality of life and hence of healthcare system, and stimulating the technical breakthrough in associated healthcare fields, including m-Health and telemedicine. This workshop is intended to address the general issues covering the fast-growing BSN area, and offer participants a unique forum to discuss the key issues and innovative solutions for challenges nowadays confronting BSN technique. It will also feature a number of invited lectures by renowned academic scientists and industrial experts. BSN 2008 is the fifth following the successful BSN workshops held at Imperial College in London (2004, 2005), MIT in Boston (2006), and RWTH Aachen University in Aachen (2007), and is the first time for this workshop to be hosted in the Asian-Pacific region."
